Sailfish usually group and form schools, especially the juveniles. They can be seen hunting together to eat balls of baitfish, and sometimes they also hunt alone. Did you know that these fish have a special nervous system to change their colors?! They use this special technique to communicate with other sailfish when they hunt. Colors can change from blue, to black, and even stripes. It’s also been seen that they use their huge dorsal fins to herd baitfishes.
